SS Grab Rails & Fittings

To keep you safe & secure onboard during adverse weather conditions, whether Offshore or on a large body of Freshwater, Captain’s Marine Supply highly recommends you install additional 304 SS Grab Rails strategically placed above & below your decks. When your vessel goes to yawing and rolling you’ll be happy you installed these SS Grab Rails.

The “Stud-Mount Series” allows you to thru-bolt the Grab Rail, which is the most secure type of mount. To do this locate the area where you believe the SS Grab Rail will be the most effective. If you have limited or no access simply cut out a round hole to match the appropriate diameter of the Beckson Access Plate you plan to use. This will provide you with the access to thru–bolt the SS Grab Rail. Be sure to install a fiberglass or hardwood backing plate over the stud before fastening a SS Flat Washer/Locknut in place.

The “Surface-Mount Series” of 304 SS Grab Rails are also available should you not wish to install a Beckson Access Plate, however bear in mind that fastening with only screws, coupled with a Waterproof Marine Sealant like Life-Caulk or 3M 4200 or 5200 will most likely not be quite as strong as the “Studmount Series” that are designed to be thru–bolted.
