Hi-Water Bilge Alarm

The High Water Bilge Alarm consists of a non-mercury float switch and an in-dash gauge that features both a visual and an audible 85 db alarm. This unit allows an unmanned com part ment to be constantly monitored. For additional compartments add additional Rule Float Switches. Complies with CFR 182.530 which requires a visual and audible alarm in each unmanned space on commercial vessels at least 26' (7.9m) in length.

On the first time that the bilge level went up due to a bilge float switch failure, it did not alarm. I would not buy again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Rule should be ashamed to associate their name with this junk product. Purchased 2 years ago on Amazon. Made it to the warranty expiration and crapped out.

The components are well made and function, but the volume on the alarm (hooked to 12V) is much too quiet. It would not wake me up nor would it be loud enough to alert someone in the marina. I'm going to take it apart and see if I can install a louder alarm.

Worked properly. The alarm could be louder but if you are at the helm where it is mounted, there is no problem hearing the alarm

the alarm wouldn't wake a person sleeping right next to it....It would be impossible to hear with the motors running...I'm not even going to install it
