Fulton F2 Trailer Winch 1,600 lbs. - Single Speed w/Strap, Sharkskin Finish

The winch when working is awesome. I’ve had two break on me though. The little spring that holds the directional lever up/down, either falls out or breaks, have had both of my Fulton F2 winches do this within a year, and good luck getting them to respond for a replacement. I haven’t had any luck emailing the company.

This unit is another example of post-pandemic machinery that is not well assembled. The design is good but the unit was not properly lubricated as-delivered. I noticed that the drum and drive axle did not turn smoothly without the strap installed. I disassembled the unit and found that two of the four bushings (one drum bushing and one drive axle) were not lubricated. I lubricated the bushings and reassembled the unit and now it functions smoothly. The unlubricated bushings would have resu…lted in an early failure of the winch while in service. Not a great situation at the boat ramp when you can't winch the boat up onto the trailer.

Well built and sturdy. Easy to install especially if your winch mount is standard. Does need to be assembled, but the directions were easy to follow and I didn't encounter any problems. Haven't used it to launch or retrieve the boat yet, but I had an F2 on another boat and I'm sure it will handle it.

the cover protects the winch for corrosion to some degree and gives s much nicer look. We used it to hoist a small dinghy at the stern of our yacht. If the bolts and metal parts were made in stainless steel or in a corrosion-proof material, I would have given a 5-star ... but as it is, it last longer than conventional less expensive models ... but eventually the rust wins :(

Bolted rite on no problems. Seems to be well made. But after purchase found it cheaper in other places.

Only thing I didn't like is the lack of a mounting template. I had to make a template out of the box it came in. A template should be included for easier install. Other than that, superb product.

Just the best winch out there

Fulton always has quality trailer products. Make sure when you install to run the star washers against the frame to hold the bolts in place. You will fight tightening if you don't. No way to get inside the frame of the winch to adjust the bolts after you assemble.
