Had the 600 watt for years and upgraded when adding panels. The 1000 was installed in July 2021 and has operated reliably. My cabin is wired to the inverter through a circuit breaker box which is plugged into the inverter. On extra hot days I open the electric locker door for cooling.
I've been using these for a very long time. They are superb. Worth every single penny.
This is the third sw1000 I've purchased, and installed, over the years.. No problems until the last one burned out, ruining a freezer full of food... I am trying to get a warranty repair...It burned out after 23 months, still under warranty, and xantrex won't repair/replace it because the cheesy paper serial number tag fell off.I am not buying any more xantrex products. The warranty is worthless.
works great
I've had this unit for 8 years and it still works. I bought it for backup power during blackouts. Over the years it's supplied the power we needed when we needed it. I don't put too much demand on it though because when we lose power it's usually in the middle of winter and there's not enough solar energy to recharge my battery bank if I drain it too low.
The digital display is missing the middle horizontal"Bars"It was a warehouse item so the MFG wont take it back. And I dont think Amazon is going to cover it
Works great, plenary of power and then some
Great product. Just don't try to run it while you have an RV connected to your vehicle, or expect your battery to get drained quickly even with the vehicle running. I wanted to use it to charge my phone and etc. while on my 500 mile trip back from Oklahoma only to have my RV break controller scream at me low battery every time I turned it on.
I have only used it for a short while so far, but is operating well. Construction is pretty solid - similar to my bigger Xantrex that I have had for a few years. The front panel is pretty simple and straightforward - which I appreciate. However, there are two nits to report:1. The meter display, that alternately displays input (DC) voltage and the output (AC) wattage, is not very accurate. My unit over-reports the input voltage by 0.2V and under-reports the wattage by a good amount! (460watts ve…rsus 537watts per the Kill-a-Watt). My $10 cigarette lighter "meter" is more accurate! (I calibrated the battery voltage with a highly accurate Agilent multimeter).2. The auto shutdown for low-battery voltage is set at 10.5 volts. And there is no user control to adjust this. 10.5V is too low, way too low. Not only will most lead-acid batteries be unable to start the vehicle, draining to this level will likely materially affect the battery's lifetime - in my opinion. (The alarm is set at 11V, but even that is too low).OK, I have another concern: In its features list the company touts the unit's low standby power - which is 600mA. That's not so low in my book. But one could argue that point, so that's fine. Problem is that the users' manual states that it is OK to leave the unit on for "a few days" and it will not drain the battery too much. That's not good advise. My unit took down my car battery voltage from 12.5V to 12.1V over 17 hours. I would expect it to draw down the battery to under 11.5V over 48-60 hours. I would recommend not leaving it in standby mode. These are issues I can deal with. The unit is operating well, appears well constructed and I like it. Thus the 4 stars. If it keeps working for 2 years, I will come back and give it 5 stars.
