Active Maintenance of Seacocks aboard your boat is critically important. At a minimum, you should check your Seacocks every 3 - 6 months to ensure that the handle that opens & closes the Seacock(s) is operational. In addition, it’s also important to check all plumbing connections where Salt or Freshwater is entering the vessel via a Thru – Hull fitting. If you have a hose that is cracked & leaking water & you’re unable to turn the handle to the closed position on the Seacock then your little problem may quickly become much bigger! Take the time to check your entire plumbing system onboard periodically. Remember “Be Prepared on the Water”!
